Best free way to make seamless PBR textures on Windows for Blender and Unity?

Asked 4 seconds ago by ai texture generator

I am building a small low-poly survival game in Unity and doing all the props in Blender 4 on a Windows 11 laptop with a mid-range GPU. My biggest time sink right now is surface materials. I need a few dozen tileable textures (weathered planks, mossy cobblestone, rusted sheet metal, woven fabric) and each one should come with at least a base color, normal and roughness map so it looks right under Unity URP lighting.

So far I have tried painting tiles by hand in Krita, which looks nice but takes hours per material, and photographing real surfaces, which gives me ugly seams and baked-in shadows that I then have to clean up. Procedural node setups in Blender work, but baking them out to image maps is slow on my machine and the results often look too clean.

Recently I started testing AI tools that turn a reference photo or a short text prompt into a texture. One I have been experimenting with is this ai texture generator. It gives me a usable base color quickly, and I then generate the normal map separately. My questions: what resolution do you recommend for mobile and PC builds, how do you make sure generated tiles stay seamless after you add roughness and normal maps, and are there any free Windows programs you trust for converting a single color image into a full PBR set? Any workflow tips are welcome.
